My first tine here with my family i heard a lot about this place. The service is nice and its clean. The sushi is 50% off after 4:30 which makes it much cheaper.

Went here on a last minute dinner, they where very accommodating for a table of nine. Excellent service, good food. Nothing out of the ordinary but good for what they do, the kids loved the hibachi chef.

We went to VKI tonight and I can't understand why this place isn't crowded. The food was great and so was the entertainment . The price was pretty normal for a Japanese steak house.

We went for early dinner Saturday afternoon and as usual, everything was impeccable. Attentive, friendly service, large platters of hibachi combos promptly served and delicious! Flawless! Felt pampered! Ask for Ben as your server. You couldn't ask for a better server! Takes great photos if you ask! Could not get a picture of today's meal; we ate it ALL down to the last grain of scrumptious fried rice. Pictures are from last visit--romantically-lit sushi!

Great sushi and Hibachi food. All sushi was 1/2 off after 4:30. The sweet potato rolls are outstanding! Our party of 7 thoroughly enjoyed the fresh seafood and steaks! Great experience and great service!

We travel to Florida for vacation every year, and when we are in Destin we usually eat near the main part of Destin. On this trip we were staying in a beach house near this sushi place. It really does not matter what kind of food you serve, a server with no skills and a manager with a "what was your problem" attitude is not going to get me back to spend money. The minute the three of us arrived we noticed that the waitress assigned to our table frequently would visit with two young men near the door. She continued to rush us even when we told her to not do so. The three of us spent almost $200 on food that was dumped on top of us, and as soon as our hibachi chef served our main course, she came to our table with to go containers and our bill. This was stupid. The sign on the door indicated we had an hour until closing. I told her that I wanted to speak to the manager. He came to our table, and although he was in the same room the whole night he saw nothing, and his response made me feel that I just wasted $200 on mediocre sushi and also disturbed his nap. The only reason for 2 stars is that the hibachi cook did a good job. I will not go back.

We went for Dinner here on our family vacation. We arrived about 8:45 the place was not suppose to close until 10:30. We were. 1 of 3 tables. We were seated and the server rushed over to our table and ask if we were ready to order. We had not even had a chance to look at the menu. We ordered drinks and asked for water which we never were served. As soon as drinks were served she again said are you ready now. We felt extremely rushed. We ordered a couple of apps, hibachi, and some Sushi rolls. As apps were being served hibachi guy started cooking and sushi came out. All food was on top of us. I am giving this place 2 stars only because the hibachi guy was very charming and that portion of the food was really good. The other food not so much. Apps were terrible and sushi rolls super skimpy and not good at all. We took most of the sushi home and threw it out later. This place was also expensive even for Destin. We don't mind spending a lot if we have a great experience but when you spend almost 200.00 for 2 adults and one child and are rushed like we were its very disappointing. As soon as we finished eating we paid our check and left. As we were walking to the parking lot our server was walking out behind and getting into a car with what appeared to be her boyfriend . . The worst service ever and honestly I've had better sushi from my local grocery store at home in Dallas.

Great Hibachi!! The wife and I love hibachi and we just moved here and tried it out. The chef was great and service was fast on sushi too! Won't be our last time there

First stop for lunch after driving straight from Georgia to Florida, and it was definitely not something that left me feeling satisfied. We all saw a commercial on their TV for pizza, and we all said in unison how AMAZING that pizza looked. The hibachi was extremely salty and too saucy. I barely touched it, and didn't care to take it to go. Such a shame for something that costed roughly $10-$12. The sushi wasn't cold, nor appetizing. Pretty disappointing meal overall.

My mom and I went here one evening for hibachi dinner. We had the table to ourselves and it was awesome. I wish I could remember the cooks name the only thing I can remember about him is that he has always wanted to be a Ninja, and he was very good with the knives I must say, he was very quick and witty but my mom caught him off guard when he accused her of being a phone tweeter which of course mom knows nothing about so she just starts tweeting like a bird at the table and I must admit it took him and myself by surprise, it was quiet funny, of course we did not tell moms. We had the shrimp tempera for appetizer ohhhhh my yum, then steak and shrimp, yummy, we had a blast, and the food was great.

Despite its less than appealing exterior, this restaurant was fantastic! The inside looks newly renovated and the service kept us entertained. The food was SO good, but I think the sushi we had stole the show. We tried the Alaskan Roll which had raw salmon that tasted VERY fresh! We had the pleasure of experiencing their Hibachi grill and most of us in the party got the steak which was grilled and seasoned to perfection. It was especially good mixed with the fried rice. We went at lunchtime and I'm quite surprised it wasn't more packed. This place definitely needs more publicity! We'll definitely be eating here again and I can't wait to try the other sushi!

Maybe it was a bad night for the waitresses I do not know however I know my whole family drove almost 2 ours for a birthday dinner with my brother here and I had made reservations almost two weeks in advance. I walked in with my family after a long day of sight seeing and watched as two waitresses stood at the bar playing on their phones and honestly sounded like they were laughing and complaining about us being there mind you there were a couple customers in the restaurant seated so I'm sure they didn't appreciate watching their waitresses just ignore them. Our waitress could only response with one word replies it seems or at least that's all she could be bothered with doing.... I told her that I would be ordering sushi while my party had hibachi she said okay so why did she take my menu away from my seat and practically make me hunt her down for my menu, also don't expect any drink refills at all.. If it wasn't for Tristan our awesome cook I would have considered this birthday dinner really disappointing and this place would honestly be getting a 1 star. Tristan practically memorized all 7 kids names in our party and interacted with them with patience and it was an awesome experience, he even refilled our sake cups at the grill. I was so impressed with him vice our waitress that he got a 20% tip from me the waitress only 10% which by the way is UNHEARD of for me to give. Even if the service is crap I at least give 15%.... As I sat there after our dinner (we had just received our checks) I grew even more impatient with our server because we all waited mind you we had 7 children (1 being 10 but the rest varied from a year to 5 years old) for this woman to pick up our checks so I am sure you know I wasn't surprised when I watched her walk out from the kitchen with her cell phone in hand..... I was told by someone there well the waitresses are just young...I'm sorry but I have been providing customer service since I was 15 years old and I am now 33...I was never like that. So much in fact when I saw the bartender/host he might be even the owner ask the waitress to go wait on a party she slowly walked over in reluctance to drink her drink first before she walked over there...I mean seriously your boss ask you to do your job and you just walk in the opposite direction you shouldn't even have to be asked to do something as basic as ask someone for their drink order. It's not like this place was packed.... Lastly the food, well it's your typical good hibachi I can't really complain and as for my sushi I was disappointed with how old my soft shell crab tasted in my spider roll but then quickly made up by the Bomb Lobster roll (I believe that was the name of it) even my mom tried that one she liked it! All in all if you get or request my guy Tristan it will be a GREAT experience just be ready to probe the waitresses and have to wait on ANYTHING else that she is providing.

Great food and very clean. The sign from the outside of the restaurant doesn't look like the place is going to be all that nice but I was very impressed walking in how new everything looked. My fiancé had some sushi and hibachi steak, she is still raving about it. It was also her birthday and they brought her out a free desert with a dragon painted on the plate in sauce, was impressive. Our hibachi chef was very good, funny, professional, did all the usual hibachi tricks and a few more. As other reviewers have said, I can't figure out why this place is empty. Was a bit pricey but it was worth every penny.

Really enjoyed the hibachi show. Chef and staff were very attentive and caring. Food was good. I tried their sushi rolls (which is 1/2 off before 6:30pm). Had their filet mignon and scallops hibachi, their steak and lobster hibachi. All really good. Total was $107. Not bad at all! Thus is close to Santa rosa beach as well. Dinner and the beach makes for a nice evening out.

Great assortment of very tasty rolls. The service was prompt throughout. We were skeptical due to lack of patrons parked in lot. But the food was very good. Priced like most sushi restaurants.

Recently stopped by VKI while on vacation with my family. The hibachi experience was great. The chef kept us laughing the entire time. The food was also very appetizing! We started off with the shrimp tempura for an appetizer. Very small portion, so I would recommend getting the larger order of the rock shrimp tempura if you intend on sharing the appetizer. For the main course I ordered the trio of hibachi lobster, scallops and shrimp. Everything was cooked very well! You get a very good portion of each. And the shrimp were pretty large and very fresh. I'm also very critical of fried rice from hibachi chains. But I was pleasantly surprised at how good their rice was. Didn't even need soy sauce! Great experience and really good food. I would recommend it while vacationing in Destin!

Great sushi. But possibly the worst service you will ever experience at a restaurant. Sushi is awesome. But staff needs to be trained properly. Surprised they are still in business. But I'm glad they are because there's not much to choose from in west Santa Rosa Beach.

Love coming here for the hibachi experience and the food is really good. I almost always get the filet and shrimp and am never disappointed. The sushi is fresh and delicious and the atmosphere is always welcoming. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommend.

Awesome! Took my kids here while on vacation each of the last couple years. The hibachi is great. Ask for Ray to be your hibachi chef - you will be very entertained and the food is outstanding. If you get there before 6:30p, they have 1/2 price sushi and it is GOOD sushi. I highly recommend VKI. It is in a simply strip center and the ambience is not the best, but the food is outstanding!

Food was awesome. Hibachi sounded like they were having fun also. Very short handed so slow service but yummy sushi. Decent prices on sushi, salads and rolls. Random location so of you don't mind a drive it's worth it.

I've been here a couple of times for hibachi. It's not the best hibachi I've ever had, but it's very reasonable and pretty good. The atmosphere is really open - one half the dining room for hibachi and the other half with tables and booths for dining. I thought it was a little bright for my taste. The service is good and the hibachi chefs have been entertaining.
